Spaghetti measure template

Although in hindsight I think Walnut would have been pretty nice too. I then traced out a very simple design to make my measure. In order to get my corners on the measure I used one of my favorite marking tools. The quick corner set comes with 4 different marking templates. Each template makes it easy for you to put your board on the template. After I completed tracing out a pattern, I used the band-saw to cut the pattern of my measure.

I could have used a scroll saw as well. For the holes I drilled out four holes using various sized bits. Check out the project plan for more details. A spindle sander is great for this. Maintain the wooden kitchen tools by hand washing in warm water with mild detergent.

Approximate a serving by making a circle with your fingers. This method is less exact than the others because everyone has different sized hands, but if you don't have the necessary tools for the other methods, it can be a good rough estimate.

Make a circle with your thumb and pointer finger; try to approximate the size of a bottle top. Using your other hand so as to not mess up the circle, place the spaghetti noodles through your fingers until the circle is filled. Divide the box of spaghetti into the amount of servings it holds. Boxes of spaghetti will have the total number of servings included on the nutrition label. Carefully pour out all of the spaghetti onto a flat surface and divide this pile into equal sections that match the number of servings as stated on the label.
