If you made one group kangaroos they would be limited to hopping. Horses could prance, cheetahs could sprint, bears could scramble on all fours. The animals are all loose at the start of the game and the zookeeper does their best to get them into their cages. Meanwhile the monkey keeps running around releasing everyone! Check out this variation of Animal Tag. This exciting game is a combination of hide-and-seek and tag. One player is designated to be the U.
Marshall who must find the escaped criminals hiding in the local area. The criminals hide until they are spotted, at which time they can run from the Marshall.
This game can also be played in teams, with a group of Marshalls attempting to find the escaped criminals. When played as a team activity, you can also set up a prison where criminals go after being caught. Untagged criminals can also cause a jailbreak if they sneak into the prison and untag their fellow criminals.
This fun tag game is a variation of Manhunt and Cops-and-robbers. Start by splitting the players into two teams. One team runs off to hide and the other team counts to 30 and goes looking for them. However, both teams can also release their friends from jail by tagging them. Learn more about Ringolevio. This version of tag is very common in India and Pakistan. The lower surfaces are called Neech and the higher surfaces are called Oonch.
The denner then decides if they want players to seek out a higher Oonch or lower Neech area and yells their preference. If they chose Neech lower , the other players must seek refuge somewhere high. This might be on playground equipment, in a tree, on a platform, on a staircase — anywhere above ground level. If a player is tagged, they become the new denner. This is a simple game that is a ton of fun. However, when they manage to tag someone, that player is frozen.
The frozen player must stand with their legs spread apart and a frozen expression. The only part of their body allowed to move is their eyes. Frozen players can come back into the game if another player crawls through their legs without being tagged. This leads to chaotic scenes where players are attempting to crawl on the ground without being tagged. This game starts with one player being chosen to be Mr Wolf. Mr Wolf will stand at the opposite end of the playing field, facing away from the other players.
Mr Wolf can reply in one of two ways. He will then turn and chase the other players back to the starting point. If Mr Wolf manages to tag anyone, that player will be Mr Wolf at the start of the next round.
It starts with one player in the middle of a playing area. The class is divided into two teams. Separate teams on either side of the court.
Place the balls in the center of the court. When the game begins, players from either team race the center to grab the balls. Like in traditional dodgeball, they toss the balls to get players on the other team out. The difference is that in Murder Ball if a player scores a basket all their teammates that were eliminated are back in the game.
War is an interesting adaptation of dodgeball. Regular dodgeball rules apply except that instead of players sitting out when the ball hits them, they are still in the game although the body part that touched the ball is not allowed to move for the rest of the game. If a leg or foot is hit, then they lose the use of that leg, if both legs are hit, the player can scoot along the floor.
Players can regain use of one of their body parts if they catch a thrown ball. Although, if a player is hit in the chest or back they are automatically out.
Keeping the medic a secret is an important part of this adaptation since once discovered, the other team can target the medic in order to eventually win the game. If there are more than 3 teams, you will have those teams sit out and rotate in as needed. The team with the most points at the end is the winner! Hopefully these are good variations of dodgeball that you can teach to someone, or use in your phys ed class. Have fun playing!
I don't know what the teacher is encouraging, but I would encourage the deaf to play the deaf, the blind to play the blind. I'm not that cruel that I would want things to be unfair. I don't know why you would think that anyone would want that, especially at a school for the disadvantaged.
You are encouraging the Deaf kids and blind kids to play dodge ball One would think that game would be a little off balance.. For my middle school boys, I have them only throw underhanded. At first they didn't like, then they realized that they weren't getting hit hard, not in the face, it forced them to move quicker, and they loved it.
I agree with the motto! That's a good one! Below the Knees or below the waist was just safety rules that they tried to add to an otherwise chaotic game We preferred Prison Ball with 6" " red rubber balls like the one in that photo Is there an "under the knees-only" dodgeball game? I got hit in the nose every single time my class played this game. Painful experience I never want another child to go through. One school I attended actually called it "bombardment" and not dodge ball.
